CONCERTS
Dennis Costa has been featured as a performer at the Garden Theatre Festival in Los Angeles, The Guitar Foundation of America Festival in Milwaukee, The RISD Winter Concert Series, the American Mandolin and Guitar Summer School in Bristol, Jordan Hall in Boston and others. In addition to initial jazz studies at the Berklee College of Music, Dennis received a B.M. Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Southern California where he studied with James Smith, Pepe Romero, Gabor Rejto and others. He has served on the faculties at Los Angeles Pierce College, East Los Angeles College, the Community College of Rhode Island and has been on the music faculty at Salve Regina University in Newport RI since 1984. In addition to performing and teaching, Dennis Costa is the owner and manager of Wakefield Music Co. in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Dennis Costa is available for concerts and recitals. Most programs consist of either a one-part (45-60 minutes) or a full program with intermission (90-100 minutes). A World of Strings
The program will feature Dennis performing on various period instruments including a parlor guitar from the 1890's, a 1925 Martin ukulele, a 1936 flamenco guitar from Madrid, a 1937 Gibson archtop guitar, a 1970 Rodriguez guitar among others. The music will compliment the era when the instruments were made and cover a wide variety of styles including ragtime, classical, tangos, jazz, tin pan alley, bossa-nova, pop and more. Composers highlighted include Scott Joplin, Hoagy Carmichael, George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, Thelonius Monk, Paul Desmond Carlos Gardel, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Antonio Carlos Jobim, William Walton, The Beatles and more.
